Sourdough is made through a fermenting process with a live fermented culture, which acts as a natural leavening agent. You won’t find any preservatives, corn syrup, or hydrogenated oils in our sourdough, it is 100% natural. Sourdough gained popularity for many at home bakers during COVID when yeast was in short supply and with ample time available, as the starter base that creates every loaf requires daily love and attention. The fermenting process can be traced back hundreds of years and was utilized long before commercial yeast became available. Sourdough is best known for its complex flavor and not necessarily the sour tang, which is simply an added benefit.
